The Maybach with BRABUS SV 12 Biturbo Engine


The World's Fastest and Most Exclusive Ultra-Luxury Sedan
The stock version of the turbocharged V12 engine of the Maybach produces 550 hp / 405 kW.
Increasing power output by increasing displacement is the BRABUS formula proven tens of
thousands of times. For the Maybach engine the BRABUS engineers developed a special
crankshaft with longer stroke as well as precision-balanced piston rods and pistons with larger
diameters. Cylinder bore is increased accordingly. Displacement grows from 5.5 liters to 6.3
liters.
The BRABUS SV 12 Biturbo engine conversion also includes precision-machined cylinder
heads, custom camshafts, new mapping for the engine electronics, and an exhaust system with
metal catalysts, whose telling feature are the two ultra-slim tailpipes in the rear.
For lubrication of engine, automatic transmission and rear-axle differential BRABUS uses ARAL
high-performance lubricants exclusively.
After the conversion the 12-cylinder twin-turbo engine delivers a maximum power output of 640
hp / 471 kW at 5,100 rpm and a gigantic peak torque of 1,026 Nm, available already at just
1,750 rpm.
Performance of the luxury sedan improves accordingly: With BRABUS SV 12 Biturbo power the
Maybach 57 accelerates in just 4.9 seconds from 0 – 100 km/h. During high-speed testing by
German car magazine 'auto motor und sport' on the test track in Nardo, Italy the tuned ultra
luxury sedan reached a top speed of 314 km/h.
This enormous speed places extreme demands on tires and wheels. The BRABUS suspension
engineers therefore custom-developed forged BRABUS Monoblock VI light-alloy wheels with
21-inch diameters for the Maybach. The fully polished multi-piece wheels with six double
spokes come in sizes 9.0Jx21 in front and 10.5Jx21 on the rear axle and make optimal use of
the available space under the wheel arches. Dunlop provides the corresponding high-
performance tires in sizes 275/40 R 21 on the front axle and 315/35 R 21 in the rear.
The BRABUS air suspension module lowers the ride height of the Maybach by some 15
millimeters without any negative effects on the unique ride comfort.
BRABUS refines the elegant lines of the Maybach with more than just large wheels and a
lowered ride height. The front of the sedan is upgraded with two auxiliary headlights that
operate as daytime running lights. They are integrated into the standard front apron.
Exclusive BRABUS lighting design is also present in the sides and the rear of the Maybach: Via
the keyless-entry remote LED lights integrated into the body are activated and illuminate the
ground on either side and behind the luxury sedan to prevent stepping into a hole or puddle in
the dark.
Maximum comfort paired with state-of-the-art multimedia technology: BRABUS also adds new
and even more exclusive highlights to the interior. The BRABUS interior designers created an
interior crafted from the finest leathers and Alcantara, further refined with ornamental seams in
contrasting colors. More than 1.2 kilometers of the finest thread are used in the waffle-design
leather upholstery of the driveshaft tunnel alone. BRABUS floor mats made from the finest
sheepskin complete the interior.
In addition the BRABUS engineers developed a number of interesting new features for the
standard entertainment system of the Maybach. The 16:9 monitors color monitors of the
BRABUS package, integrated into the back of the front seats, measure 15.2 inches (standard: 9
inches).
At the push of a button the Maybach is transformed into a luxurious office on wheels: The
monitors display the signal of an integrated computer, custom-developed for use in a car and
equipped with an 80 Gigabyte hard drive. The computer is connected to the internet via UMTS.
An easy-to-manage wireless keyboard and optical gyro mouse ensure comfortable operation.
A USB 2.0 port, stylishly integrated into the center console, allows connecting peripherals such
as a printer or digital camera. To remain online even after exiting the vehicle the BRABUS communication specialists
integrated an IBM X Series notebook computer in an electrically operated drawer in the trunk.
The computer is connected with the PC network of the car using a W-LAN.
An additional 6-disc DVD changer rounds out the BRABUS interior for the Maybach.
