Brabus M-Class

Exclusive, Individual and with up to 445 hp / 328 kW of Power
Exclusive, individual and powerful: These three attributes best describe the brand-new BRABUS
tuning program for the new Mercedes M-Class, model series W 164. Naturally BRABUS backs all components with the unique BRABUS Tuning Warranty® of three
years up to 100,000 kilometers (see BRABUS warranty conditions as of June 2003).
BRABUS offers the world's most extensive engine tuning program for Mercedes-Benz
automobiles, which naturally also includes the new M-Class. For the CDI Turbodiesel models the
BRABUS powerplant engineers have developed the BRABUS PowerXtra performance kits, which
are TÜV-certified even for vehicles equipped with a particulate filter. Models tuned with PowerXtra
performance kits meet the same stringent emission limits as their production counterparts.
For the top-of-the-line diesel model ML 320 CDI BRABUS designed the performance kit D6 (III). It
provides a maximum power output of 272 hp / 200 kW and an enormous peak torque of 590 Nm at
just 1,600 rpm.
The BRABUS engine tuning program for the gasoline models ranges from the B7 performance kit,
which boosts power of the ML 350 to 287 hp / 211 kW, to the 445-hp / 327-kW BRABUS 6.1 S
displacement engine for the ML 500. With this engine and its impressive peak torque of 635 Nm at
4,500 rpm the 4x4 accelerates in just 5.5 seconds from 0 – 100 km/h and reaches a top speed of
262 km/h.
All BRABUS engines are lubricated exclusively with ARAL high-performance motor oil. Custom-
calibrated BRABUS stainless-steel sport exhaust systems with four chromed tailpipes are available
for all M-Class engine variants.
For customizing the appearance of the new M-Class and to add further exclusivity BRABUS offers
an innovative and attractive appearance package. The front bumper is refined with the BRABUS
off-road molding, whose high-gloss chromed elements can be combined either with a chrome-like
surface or with body color painting. The 4x4 gains further character with custom-tailored auxiliary
BRABUS high beams and fog lamps.
The sill areas can be optimized aerodynamically with BRABUS side sills. Entrance lights integrated
into the sills combine elegant design and added safety: The entrance lights are activated by pulling
on a door handle or by using the standard keyless-entry remote.
The rear of the M-Class is refined with the BRABUS off-road molding, which is available in the
same color combinations as the front molding. It creates the perfect backdrop for the BRABUS
exhaust system with four tailpipes.
The exclusive BRABUS looks are also characterized by the custom-tailored BRABUS Monoblock
wheels. The range of TÜV-tested tire/wheel combinations starts with multi-piece BRABUS
Monoblock IV 10Jx18 light-alloy wheels mounted with tires in size 255/55 ZR 18 in all four corners.
The SUV can also be equipped with 20-inch diameter multi-piece BRABUS Monoblock VI wheels
in size 9.5Jx20 with 265/45 ZR 20 or 275/40 ZR 20 tires.
The largest wheels from BRABUS for the M-Class are king-size BRABUS Monoblock VI 10Jx22
light-alloy wheels. The fully polished one-piece wheels feature six striking powerful double spokes
and offer maximum strength and durability. BRABUS technology partners Pirelli and Yokohama
provide the optimal tires up to size 265/35 ZR 22 in front and size 295/30 ZR 22 on the rear axle.
The BRABUS suspension components are specifically calibrated to these tire/wheel combinations.
For vehicles with conventional steel springs BRABUS offers a choice of sport springs for a ride-
height lowering of some 30 millimeters or a sporty yet comfortable sport suspension. For M-Class
models with AIRMATIC air suspension the BRABUS suspension engineers developed a special
control module that lowers the ride height by some 30 millimeters.
To further optimize the active safety of the new SUV BRABUS offers high-performance brake
systems in various configurations. The top-of-the-line version features 12-piston aluminum fixed
calipers on the front axle in combination with vented and perforated 380 x 36-millimeter discs.
Together with six-piston fixed calipers on 355 x 28-mm brake discs in the rear they provide
stopping power normally reserved for purebred sports cars.
Another BRABUS specialty for the new Mercedes M-Class are exclusive interior options: Stainless-
steel sill plates with illuminated BRABUS logo, an ergonomically shaped sport steering wheel and
leather-clad door trim elements are available upgrades to the stock equipment as are exclusive
BRABUS fully leather interiors masterfully crafted from combinations of the finest Mastik and
Alcantara leathers.
The BRABUS electronics specialists developed a custom-tailored multimedia system for the
Mercedes M-Class, whose various equipment levels can be integrated stylishly into the interior of
the SUV.

Carlsson CM50 K - a mass of class

For all off-road enthusiasts the famous Mercedes-Benz tuner Carlsson is offering a complete tuning package, which clearly, if tastefully, underlines the modern features of the new M-Class. Big, voluminous yet still sporty, with its performance tweaked to 430 bhp, and combining this with a touch of luxury, the CM50 K based on the ML 500 always cuts a fine figure both in the countryside and in the metropolitan jungle.
Class with pedigree: 430 bhp for off road and in the metropolitan jungle
With an unladen weight of 2.1 tons the top-of-the-range model of the M-Class needs a deal of power to get it moving smartly. The 430 bhp/316 kW and 650 Nm torque put enough power at the disposal of the eight-cylinder engine to enable it to cruise swiftly along in any landscape. The CM50 K has a top speed of 265 km/h, and covers the standing-start from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.8 seconds. The improvement in performance is achieved with the Carlsson supercharger system, which has been developed in close collaboration with the Ogura Clutch Co. Ltd.
The advantages of the high performance supercharger, manufactured under licence from Wankel, are its high efficiency levels, its wear-resistant, quiet operation, excellent durability, immediate responsiveness and limited weight.
Stainless steel silencers with twin oval tailpipes each
The rear view of the CM50 K is dominated by the four tailpipes of the Carlsson sports rear silencers, which not only give out an impressive, sonorous, sporty sound, but are also optimised, in comparison with the standard version, in terms of exhaust back pressure and gas conduction, and thus contribute to the achievement of greater torque and improved performance.
Up to 40 mm lower with Carlsson sports springs
Greater ride comfort in all situations
The sports springs developed by Carlsson lower the centre of gravity of the ML 500 by approx. 35-40 mm. Besides a more dynamic appearance, the result is reduced roll and, therefore, improved handling without any major reductions in comfort for the driver.
Elegance for the adventurous
Even in its unmodified form, the ML 500 is visually impressive with its interplay of strongly contoured panels and taut lines. The Carlsson design of the aerodynamic components lends support to the sovereign character of the new M-Class but at the same time gives it a sportier feel. The front spoiler and the lip on the rear skirt appear with the characteristic Carlsson 'diffuser look'.
For a perfect finish: 3/12 Ultra Light series wheels
New and to be seen for the first time at the IAA in Frankfurt: the 3/12 Ultra Light wheel design in the dimension FA 10 x 22“ (with 265/35/22) and RA 11x23” (305/20/22). The new forged wheels have been specially adapted to the demands of the larger Mercedes-Benz models and, although equally strong, are significantly lighter than conventional cast wheels. Thanks to their reduced weight, forged wheels are less liable to tramping than cast wheels (lower unsprung weight) and thus offer optimum road contact. For the driver, this means improved handling and greater ride comfort.
Alternatively and making their debut at the IAA in Frankfurt:
The new 23" Carlsson 3/11 wheel design, which is available as an ultra-light forged wheel or as a magnesium wheel. These lightweight, 11-spoke wheels are the ideal choice for tomorrow's powerful cars and offer greater comfort combined with improved handling characteristics.
Elegance with a high feel-good factor
Appointed in the finest black / calvados nappa leather, the interior of the ML exudes an air of luxurious elegance. The deep brown tone of the door panels and the central part of the seats contrasts discreetly with the classic black of the remaining upholstery and gives the ML a pleasant, warm atmosphere. The embossed Carlsson logo in the middle of the seat is a restrained reference to the Merzig-based tuning company.

KLEEMANN ML


595 Hp-KLEEMANN ML50K S8 featuring the new aerodynamic body kit for the ML model range
KLEEMANN is proud to present the KLEEMANN ML50K S8. Based on the Mercedes-Benz ML 500, KLEEMANN has created an utterly desirable car representing the best of design and technology for the big SUV market.
The ML 50K S8 features a new aero dynamic enhancement kit developed by the KLEEMANN design department. The aero component kit is designed with attention to detail and consists of a deep front spoiler and a rear spoiler with a built in diffuser panel as seen on other KLEEMANN models. The rear diffuser panel makes provision for the KLEEMANN tail pipes and complements a rear spoiler mounted on the roof. Furthermore the ML50K S8 comes with new side skirts and wheel arch flares for a more sporty appearance and strong road presence.
The complete exterior package including 20 inch TM-5 wheel ensures a bold, muscular look and fits all non-AMG M-Class vehicles.
An Electronic Body Lowering Module (EBL) and the KLEEMANN Suspension Tuning firms up the Air Matic suspension and ensure a lower centre of gravity for reduced body roll and better turning stability.
The redesigned exterior is perfectly matched by a new sporty yet luxurious interior. The upholstery on seats and doors is made from high quality leather and with sections of Alcantara. Dash board and panels inside are made from carbon fibre to finish the sporty look and feel. Carbon fibre inlays are also to be found on the ergonomic shaped steering wheel.

More power for both the ML 500 and the Diesel range
Like the CLS 50K S8 and E50KCC presented earlier this year, the ML50K S8 is powered by the well known 5.0 litre V8 in full KLEEMANN trim. Mounted with the KLEEMANN Kompressor system, Super Sport Camshafts, a reprogrammed ECU and stainless steel exhaust headers the engines power out put is increased to 595 Hp as the torque curve peaks at 770 Nm. A complete stainless steel dual exhaust system allows the Kompressor engine to breath freely and takes the exhaust note to another level. The powerful engine makes the car able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5,3 seconds and the top speed is 270 km/h.
For increased performance in the Diesel-powered ML models, KLEEMANN offers the efficient KD-BOX or a reprogramming of the ECU.
For the safety aspect KLEEMANN has added more stopping power to the heavy car. The KB8 brake system: 380 x 34 mm discs with 8 piston callipers on the front axle and 345 x 28 mm discs with 4 piston callipers on the rear axle. The massive brake discs are vented and cross drilled and will not fade even under extreme strain. All KLEEMANN brake systems come with separate left and right discs.
